Below are some of our favourite neighbourhoods and suggested places to stay if you are visiting from out of town and are looking to be well situated in the city.

If you are visiting from out of town and want to stay in an AirBnb or VRBO, we recommend looking in the following neighbourhoods.
Mount Pleasant
East of Cambie St and west of Clark Dr
Between 2nd Ave and 16th Ave
Mount Pleasant is the neighbourhood that we live in! It is right on the edge of downtown and walking distance to False Creek. Known for it’s small boutiques and vintage stores as well as countless craft breweries and small restaurants, Mount Pleasant is a great place to walk, shop, and eat. Check out some of our favourite spots for shopping: Mintage Mall, Corner Store, Gather the Shop, or Fish Market, grab a coffee from: Gene Coffee Bar, Milano Coffee Roasters, or L'Atelier Patisserie, or stop for a drink or bite to eat at: Bar Susu, 33 Acres Brewing, Sing Sing, Kin Kao, Tacofino Ocho, or The Watson.
Riley Park – Little Mountain
East of Cambie St and west of Fraser St
Between 16th Ave and 41st Ave
Situated just south of Mount Pleasant, Riley Park – Little Mountain boasts another crop of amazing shops and restaurants. Extending south of 16th Ave, stop at our favourite little “find-all” store Welk’s, shop curated consignment goods at Front & Company, or find something special for your little pup at Good Boy Collective. Eat at El Camino’s, Anh and Chi, Nikkyu, or Le Marche St. George.
Olympic Village
East of Cambie St and west of Main St
Between Terminal Ave and 2nd Ave
North of Mount Pleasant is the small neighbourhood of Olympic Village. Built on the edge of False Creek for the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, this area is super well situated to downtown (you can walk along the seawall or cross the Cambie bridge into Yaletown). It has a number of great restaurants and an amazing gelateria. Try out Ophelia for Mexican or Nook for Italian and end the evening at Amato Gelato Cafe.
Fairview
East of Burrard St and west of Cambie St
Between the Seawall and 16th Ave
Fairview Slopes extends west of Mount Pleasant, encompassing the lively streets of South Granville and Granville Island. The homes along the slopes north of Broadway offer great views of the city and quiet walking paths with access to the seawall and Granville Island. Pop over to Granville Island for an unbeatable Lee’s donut or for fresh groceries and artisanal goods. Along the Cambie edge, try Osteria Elio Volpe or Vij’s.
Kitsilano
East of Alma St and west of Burrard St
Between the water and 16th Ave
Kitsilano is known as a laid-back neighbourhood, with a huge saltwater pool at the ocean’s edge and stunning mountain views from Kitsilano Beach. Stores along W 4th Ave include Monos (shameless plug), Melanie Auld Jewelry, Aesop, Old Faithful, and Mine & Yours. Eat at Kokoro Tokyo Mazesoba, Maenam, Las Margaritas, or Lucky Taco. Take a coffee to go from Kits Beach Coffee or Lumine Coffee and head to our favourite dog beach, or grab a casual bite at Siegel's Bagels or Jitters Caffe.
HOTELS / STAYS
If you want to stay downtown for easier access to our wedding venue, below are a number of recommended spots. We would avoiding booking any accommodation in Gastown, East Hastings, or along the downtown Granville strip, unless you are familiar with the areas.
The Douglas

Located next to BC Place stadium, this upscale, nature-inspired hotel stands within the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver entertainment complex. It is a 9-minute walk from the Plaza of Nations Ferry Dock and a 10-minute walk to the trendy restaurant scene of Yaletown.

The Sylvia Hotel
